A US Airways jet (in Reuters picture) with 155 people on board plunged into the frigid Hudson river off Manhattan on Thursday apparently after hitting a flock of geese. Officials said everyone was rescued. “We’ve had a miracle on the Hudson,” New York governor David Paterson said. Pilot Chesley Sullenberger, nicknamed Sully, is being feted as the Hero of the Hudson Sheikh Ali, waiting at an airport in Charlotte (North Carolina) for his co-worker and passenger Matt Kane, was unaware why the plane was late. So Ali sent an email from his BlackBerry: “Where are you?” Kane’s five-word response told the whole story: “I landed in the Hudson.”
