Section of TC leadership ruining prospects of alliance: Cong

The Bengal Congress today alleged that a section of the Trinamool Congress leadership was bent on ruining the prospects of an alliance between the two parties for the coming Lok Sabha polls."It is unfortunate that some leaders close to (TC chief) Mamata Banerjee are launching personal attacks on senior Congress leaders including External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and trying to vitiate the atmosphere for an alliance or seat adjustment," CLP leader Manas Bhunia told reporters here.He said that this should be taken seriously by Banerjee who should stop such attempt as it would not be congenial for an alliance between the two parties.Bhunia, however, said that the TC chief had shown a positive attitude for a possible alliance. The Congress had reciprocated by withdrawing its candidate in favour of the TC nominee for tomorrow's assembly by-poll at Bisnupur (West) constituency, he said."Congress is very much interested and open for an alliance with the TC to confront the CPI(M)-led Left Front," he added.
