CSK OR KKR crucial for both

Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Saurav Ganguly-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would be under great pressure in the IPL T20 match to played at Chepauk stadium here tommrrow as both teams need to win three matches to secure a place in semifinals.

While both the teams are on even keel on points table having won five of their eleven matches so far, the hosts have a better net run rate. However, both are in a similar situation as only a victory tomorrow would enhance their hopes of a semifinal berth.

Super Kings have defeated Knight Riders in the first phase of the league in Kolkata earlier.

Though intent and momentum seem to be there in the minds of the rivals, Super Kings, based on their batting strength and the reinforced strength in bowling in the presence of Aussie medium pacer Doug Bollinger, look to be having an edge.

In the last home match for the Super Kings, the strip was slower and even stalwart like Maestro Sachin Tendulkar found difficulties in adjusting to the hot and humid conditions.

The weather also being a factor, getting the right combination would be critical and Dhoni and former India Captain, Sourav Ganguly would be deciding the final eleven in rotating the players depending on these conditions.

Also, there had been instances of better teams losing in low scoring encounters, especially in the second phase of the tournament and this would also have a bearing on the outcome of the match.
