Nangal to Howrah Superfast from today on track

Indian Railways would start a superfast train between Howrah (Kolkata) and Nangal in Punjab, bordering Himachal Pradesh, from today, a railway official said.

According to Shimla station superintendent GS Rajput the inaugural train would leave Nangal 0800 hrs today.

Weekly service would down from Nangal to Howrah at 0800hrs every Saturday and up from Howrah to Nangal on every Thursday at 0740hrs.

The service would be extended to Una of Himachal Pradesh, in the coming months. The station also offer Una-Delhi Shatabdi Express on the route earlier and this is the second train on the broad gauge track for this hill state.

This would expected to benefit people of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra districts in Himachal.

About 14 toy trains run over world heritage Kalka-Shimla and Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow gauge routes in Himachal Pradesh.
